The details
Our client, a large Clue Chip organisation, has many investments, Joint Venture partnerships and strategic stakes across a spectrum of sectors including Technology, Infrastructure, Renewable Energy and FinTech. The portfolio and business continue to grow with revenues increasing year on year. With the considerable focus now on Renewable Energy there is a requirement to to bring in a Finance Director with experience of either the sector or a more general utilities background. This is a newly formed role and the Finance Director will essentially be responsible for the day to day financial management as well as Project Finance activities. Key accountabilities include:
*Formulation of financial policies within the overall Group framework.
*Working with the Board & management team to ensure that the budgeted financial performance is delivered.
*Implement & monitor the effectiveness of the financial control environment.
*Working capital management in particular external debtors to ensure that bad debt risk is kept to a minimum.
*Assist in the development of the Business Strategy and consequential changes to the business operating model.
*Manage and develop the members of the finance team.
*Responsible for the preparation of the annual 3 year business plan, budget and forecasts.
*Preparation of monthly management accounts and annual audited financial statements in compliance with Group timetables.
*Ad hoc financial analysis and liaison with the group.
*Responsible for cost accounting and financial analysis,
*Responsible for project and investment analysis,
*Participation and support in M&A activity
The successful applicant will have experience of operating at the Finance Director level within a fast growing dynamic business. Essential will be experience of working either within the Renewable Energy sector or more generally within utilities. You will be an excellent communicator be analytical and capable to grasp business dynamics quickly, taking on the the challenge of a sector that is experiencing rapid change and growth. You will be ambitious and results driven. Highly advantageous will be experience of working within an environment that is scaling up in preparation of an IPO.
